It is summertime! So let us go outside to feel the sunlight and the fresh breeze on our faces. We do not need a lot of space to really feel the summer. What we need though – is something to sit on.
There are many possibilities for those who would like to spend time outside. As design fans looking for summer furniture we are of course very concerned about the actual design. Let us say we do not want big furniture, just a chair, a stool and a small table. We look for something small, light, ecological, original. We want a pretty piece.
I have searched through Polish designersʼ sites looking for ideas and products that will make your small summer space more interesting.
1. We start with a big one. Subtle minimalism. Simple white round lines. Almost invisible. A collection called Limericks by Tomasz Augustyniak for Delivie.
2. A mint wire stool called Rabbit by Bongo Design is a playful piece. It is a place to sit but also it can be a storage unit for magazines or books.
3. And when we are talking about interesting stools it is good to show a project by a young designer Jan Lutyk. His Ribbon stool is now conquering the world of design. An elegant piece made of plywood, and a very innovative approach to traditional methods.
4. Falon is a wooden stool with a nice form inspired by waves. A few Falon stools stacked together creates a visually enjoyable bench. Designed by Tabanda.
5. For card players Piotr Kuchcinskidesigned Trefle (Clubs) that also refer to a symbol of good luck – the clover. Maybe it is not the best solution for grass or sand but on a small balcony it will fulfil its function.
6. One of the most famous designs the last few years is a family of Plopp stools by Oskar Zieta. Those shiny or colourful pieces bring us joy and a bit of glamour. We all know the stool as it is in production by Danish Hay.
7. For those who love the metallic pieces, but also love nature will just love Trunks designed by Malafor.
8. And when we would like something more comfortable you should really try Blow Sofa, also by Malafor.
